Family Promise of Greater Toledo / IHN

New Life Church of God in Christ served as a host congregation at Fairgreen the week of July 24-31, 2011. This was their first time hosting and thoroughly enjoyed using our facility. They served four families. Thanks again to Fairgreen volunteers (the Bennett’s, Jean Burtch, Connie Winslow, Fred King and John MacPherson) who came each evening to open the church doors and to Dick Schroeder who prepared the schedule.
Save the date - October 8, 2011 - Give Them Shelter, a 5K, 3.5 mile walk at Ottawa Park. Registration fee is $25 and includes an exclusive event T-shirt. Registration is due by September 5, 2011. Late registration is $35. Children 6 and under walk free. The goal is for each walker to raise $200 by getting sponsors. Persons raising $200 or more will receive a ―Give Them Shelter‖ hooded sweatshirt. The $200 must be turned in by September 22 to receive the sweatshirt. Submit a completed Walk Sponsor Sheet with your collected donations and Family Promise will send your supporters a thank you letter. Their gift is fully tax deductible. Further, we would love to see each member congregation represented with a walking team. A team of twelve or more can have the event shirts customized with a team name, so that your church may be identified.
Registration Information and Application Forms are available on the Welcome Center and also by visiting www.givethemsheltertoledo.org. If you would like to participate without walking, there are volunteer opportunities available, also. Please phone Family Promise at 419-242-5166.
