God's Servants At Fairgreen
|
Ed and Betty were married in 1963 and later moved to Toledo. They are now residing at West Park Place, 3501 Executive Parkway Apt.535, Toledo Ohio 43606. They both are very happy there and Ed says "the food is good and he is starting to regain his thirty pound weight loss". Betty loves to eat the shrimp cocktail each evening along with the chocolate ice cream.
Ed said "his favorite foods are steak, German potato salad, but that the German Festival is the only true place to get German potato salad!" Ed is beginning to meet new people in their new home. He talked about the chimes at Fairgreen (His son Don’s Memorial) and how when he is here at Fairgreen he quietly sits in his car as he loves to hear the chimes playing the various songs. Ed shared that Don was the best thing that ever happened to him and that Don taught him what love was and how to give it away. Ed was amazed at Don’s love for God and Fairgreen Church and how proud Ed was when Don became a Deacon and an usher too!
Ed & Betty are now blessed with a beautiful granddaughter who is 15 months old. She has those magical and beautiful eyes that don’t miss anything. Ed has always been active in church, as he loved serving on the Building and Grounds Committee. He misses being able to physically participate any longer due to some health issues. His mind and ideas never quit though—he just discussed an "idea" he has to end some of the surface water problems in the church basement and the committee is going to look into it.
We are blessed by the love that Ed and Betty have shown to all of us. Interviewed by Carol Yeager
