God's Servants At Fairgreen
This will be a new column featured each month by Carol Yeager.
In our September issue we are featuring Betty Schimmel and she has shared with us about her life here at Fairgreen.
Betty grew up in Findlay, Ohio. She taught Sunday school and the youth group. Betty later moved to Toledo where Betty Thomas invited her to Rosewood Church. Betty joined the church when we were meeting at Hiawatha School, while in the transition to become Fairgreen Presbyterian Church. Betty loves to read, to do puzzles, watch games shows on TV, baseball games and visit with others on the phone.
One of Betty’s favorite memories was at Rosewood when Frank Sample was singing ―Little old lady passing bye‖ in a skit at church. Betty misses the children’s choir and their little blue and white choir robes. Wouldn’t it be great for ―Kids for Christ‖ to develop the children’s choir again. That would bring a smile to Betty’s heart and to many other’s also.
The next time you see Betty Schimmel ask her about the time Woody Cole shared with her about teaching at Washington Local and she was the only white person there. Shared by Carol Yeager
