A Letter Of Gratitude And Appreciation
By Linda Hoover
Fairgreen Family,
The above bible verse speaks in a whole new way to me after sitting by my Dad’s bedside for almost 40 hours as he slipped away to his Heavenly home. With his last breaths, he spoke the word ―Good‖ three times… very distinctly. Our family answer to him was, ―You are right, Dad, it is all good.‖ We believe he was seeing into the light and path-way of heaven, especially since he had been totally unconscious for all the previous waiting hours.
When I read this verse again today, I realized this verse has deeper, spiritual meaning for me. It is a way, I believe, to thank you for all the ways I received your love during Dad’s sudden death and the days that have followed. Thank you for the prayers, the emails, the calls, the visits, and the cards. I have no doubt that I was able to stand strong due to all of your intercessory prayers. I could not see you; I could not hear any of you, but God sent all of you, in a host of unique ways, to let me know that I was loved beyond what I could even conceive.
I remain in overwhelming awe when I consider your generosity. I am so soulfully touched to know that donations have been made to the Fairgreen Food Pantry, the Great Banquet Shower Fund, and the Memorial Fund. Dad knew how important all these causes and ministries are to me, and your gifts honor his lifelong generosity. I have asked that the donations to the Fairgreen Memorial Fund in memory of Dad be ―earmarked‖ toward repair of the sound system at church. My Dad would want everyone to be able to hear in the best way possible as we worship our Lord.
With appreciation, gratitude and genuine love,
